New Office Building for LEED Certification

Greenville, SC (December, 2 2011) – Southern Eye Associates is pleased to announce the relocation of its Greenville office to a new building at 113 Doctors Drive within the Cross Creek Medical Park.  Expected to be one of the first LEED Certified medical offices in Greenville, S.C., the new 13,000 square-foot office will provide spacious patient areas, larger exam rooms, a full service optical center and the latest diagnostic eye care technology.  By following U.S. Green Building Council LEED standards, the building will provide improved indoor environmental quality and energy savings through high efficiency lighting, water and air conditioning systems.

“We out grew our current Greenville office many years ago. The new building will enable us to better care for and diagnose patients”, said Dr. Jake Bostrom, MD.  “Our employees, patients, and doctors will all be happier with more space, a better layout and new diagnostic testing rooms.  I think everyone will arrive and leave the office with a better experience and mindset as compared to our old office.”

LEED Certified buildings are expected to provide annual energy savings of at least 20% compared to similar code compliant building.  An energy efficient exterior building envelop, a white roof, a vestibule and high efficiency lighting and air conditioning systems will contribute to the projected energy savings. More sustainable practices will also be utilized including recycling stations, low flow plumbing fixtures and the use of green cleaning products.

“Southern Eye Associates is one of the first private medical offices in Greenville to seek LEED Certification”, said Felicia Murphy, Southern Eye Associates Marketing Director.  “We will not only be helping the environment by constructing a more sustainable building, it will also help us provide a better patient experience and an improved work environment for our employees.”

The new facility will feature high ceilings in the lobby and optical center area, which will display name brand frames, sunglasses and the latest lens technology.  Patient exam rooms and hallways will be larger to improve patient care, experience and flow throughout the facility.  The new building will also incorporate a larger and more convenient parking lot with better accessibility to the front entrance.

"We are only moving a short distance from our current Greenville office which will be an easy transition.  The new office will be equipped for us to better serve our patients.  We will have plenty of parking, a covered drop off area and we will be in a more central location to do what we love to do, serve others." said Dr. Brad Williams, MD.

With completion scheduled for March of 2012. Partners on the construction of the new building include Hughes Development Corporation, Triangle Construction and David Smith Company and Crozier Architecture as the architect and LEED design team.
